Presidency of the Commission of Uemoa: Senegal has to make elect Elhadji Abdou Sakho

DAKARACTU.COM- The Senegalese rarefy in the head of the international organizations. In recent past, our fellow countrymen teemed in these strategic positions for the international interests of our country and for the brilliance of our diplomacy. Elhadji Abdou Sakho is a Senegalese executive who knows well the Commission of Uemoa in which he occupied leading positions. With the end of both mandates of the Malian  Soumaïla Cissé, he competes his succession. He is set against the former nigerien Minister of Finance who does not know deeply the institution. Senegal and Ivory Coast, which represent almost 70 % of the money supply of Uemoa, support the Senegalese candidate. After two summits where the president of the commission was not able to be appointed, mandate was given to the Togolese Head of State, Faure Gnassingbé, to bring to tegether the positions to end in a consensus around one of the candidates. According to the information collected by dakaractu.com, an agreement was not still found. The new president of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou, persists in maintaining his candidate, obsessed by the desire to start his mandate by a diplomatic success. And tries to manupilated Abdoulaye Wade, known for his  circling positions. But the Senegalese president has to refuse to fall in this trap. He has to remain all the more firm as the question will be settled by a vote if the blocking persists. And, if urns  express themselves,  our country’s candidate  will win . Five States of the organization (Senegal, Ivory Coast, Guinea Bissau, Benin and Togo) support him, while three others  (Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso) support his opponent. Mali is influenced by its national Soumaïla Cissé, who does not want, for crypto-personal reasons, that his ex-assistant succeeds him. Burkina bears grudge against Senegal  because this latter competes with it for president's position of the committee of the economic Community of the States of western Africa (ECOWAS).  Moreover why to delay the solution of urns while it is favorable to us? What prevents our diplomacy from asking for it right away.
Senegal, which had occupied twice the position (our fellow countryman Ousmane Seck and Moussa Touré succeeded one another in the head of the organization), lost it because Wade removed his support for Touré in 2003. It's time that we found a position that we had managed to set and to strengthen to maintain the international brilliance of our country there.
